Sometimes I start out making one dish and end up with something different. I am sure that happens to other people, right?!? Well, last night I started dinner thinking I was going to make pork noodles. Then I decided mid way through I wasn’t feeling pork noodles. So, what do you get when you have all the ingredients to make pork noodles, but don’t want them? Garlic Pork! Well, it should be called Garlic, Garlic, Garlicky, Garlic Pork. This recipe is a keeper and I am glad I decided to go this route.
- 1.5 to 2 pounds of pork cubed
- ½ small onion diced
- 10 - yes, 10 - cloves of garlic minced
- ½ cup of chicken stock
- Toasted sesame seeds for garnish
- 3 green onions diced for garnish
- Soy sauce to taste
- Salt and Pepper to taste
- Olive Oil
Coat the bottom of a large skillet with olive oil. Over medium high heat, brown the pork and onions. Once browned, add in the garlic and chicken stock. Let simmer until chicken stock reduces by half. Season with salt and pepper and soy sauce. Top with green onions and sesame seeds. Serve over rice or noodles.
Wow…that was an easy dish! If you don’t like pork, remember you can always substitute beef or chicken. AND if you don't like garlic, well...this dish isn't for you :)
